Global Account Manager - Life Science, Healthcare and Life Sciences As a Global Account Manager within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help drive the adoption and growth of emerging cloud-based technologies across the life sciences industry. More importantly, you'll help pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device customers accelerate drug discovery, streamline clinical operations, and transform their digital infrastructure to bring therapies to patients faster.

Your responsibilities will include developing and managing a growing, complex customer base across life sciences accounts. You will deepen business and technical relationships and launch new customer initiatives by helping to define, identify, and pursue key opportunities— from cloud migration and data platform modernization to AI/ML-powered research, commercial analytics, and agentic automation. This includes determining the most effective go-to-market strategies and collaborating with AWS Solution Architects, Partners, Legal, Marketing, Product, Capture/Contracts, and Executive leadership.

You will establish deep business and technical relationships through your knowledge of the customer's goals, regulatory environment, and technology landscape. You will have day-to-day interactions with customers and our ecosystem of partners (SIs and ISVs) that support these customers. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive engagement at the CXO level— including CIOs, CTOs, Heads of R&D, and Commercial/Medical leaders— as well as with software developers and IT architects. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about life sciences priorities such as GxP compliance, data governance, AI adoption, and digital transformation, and to convey compelling technical solutions that address them.

Key job responsibilities

Drive revenue growth and market share for your customer and AWS.

Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships, including senior executives and industry partners.

Serve as a key member of the AWS account team, helping to advance our customers' strategy in healthcare.

Articulate and implement strategic territory and account plans aligned to AWS's strategic direction.

Maintain an accurate and robust sales pipeline and forecast new business opportunities.

Understand the technical considerations, certifications, and customer procurement processes.

Identify specific prospects/partners/channels to approach while communicating a relevant value proposition for your customer.

Work closely with customers to ensure that they understand relevant cloud use cases, are successful using AWS services, and are able to build the technical resources required to fully embrace cloud services.

Understand the business and technical requirements of your customers, and work closely with their IT development team(s) to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.

Collaborate with AWS’s Legal&Contracting teams to manage complex contract negotiations.

Accelerate customer adoption and ensure customer satisfaction.

Expect moderate travel.

Driving innovative solutions through collaboration with your designated partner(s) for the benefit of their customers/users. Effectively balancing technical engagement with commercial focus to drive long-term success for our partners. Developing a global go-to-market strategy with commercial teams by effectively leveraging co-marketing and co-selling motions.

About the team We are a team of sales and technical professionals within AWS dedicated to accelerating cloud adoption across the life sciences industry. We partner with global pharmaceutical, biotech, and health system organizations to drive digital transformation— from infrastructure modernization and data platform strategy to AI/ML innovation and agentic automation. Our team combines deep industry expertise with technical acumen to deliver measurable business outcomes, helping customers bring therapies to market faster and improve patient outcomes at scale.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience in technology related sales, business development or equivalent.

Experience increasing technology adoption and creating long-term transformational account strategies or equivalent.

Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of AWS or technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).

Experience (technical or educational) in Engineering or Computer Science.

Experience as primary account manager of a global federated enterprise working with multiple business units and influencing governance and policy or equivalent.

Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology projects for global customers.

Experience selling cloud solutions.
