General Description The Eagles Club Leader leads the EAGLES Club Team to plan, prepare, and assist with activities for a group of children after school every weekday during term‑times, as well as during orientation week, in‑service/parent‑teacher conference days. The Eagles Club Leader reports to the Deputy Director.
This role is part‑time (70%) and limited to 1 year. The contract could potentially be renewed afterwards. You need to be a trained teacher and have the right to live and work in Switzerland (CH/EU passport) to apply.
Job Responsibilities Eagles Club Leader is expected to:
Leadership
Provide leadership, support and supervision to EAGLES staff
Hold regular staff meetings
Administration and record keeping of staffing attendance and needs
Administration and record keeping of student attendance and needs (health, social, emotional)
Ordering and purchasing supplies and materials within an agreed budget
Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with all community members
Undertake appropriate and relevant training
Monitor and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children and staff
Maintain appropriate staff‑to‑student ratios and ensure safe supervision practices
Communicate with Admissions Department and attend Admissions events
Communicate with parents about any challenging behaviour or behavioural concerns regarding children
Communicate with parents about late pick‑ups
Communicate with Assistant Principals about concerns for students
Planning and Preparation
Provide an inclusive and welcoming environment that incorporates the children’s ages, interests, and abilities
Lead collaborative planning and prepare age‑appropriate activities and engagements
Set up appropriate spaces, including furniture and equipment, and outdoor spaces
Consult with children and involve them in planning activities
Strategise and implement“camp days” during parent‑teacher conferences, open to all ISZL families
Coordinate EAGLES care for ISZL professional development days, in‑service days, staff orientation weeks, and other school events when needed
Supporting Children&Families
Provide holistic support (physical, social, and emotional) for the children from time of entry to the club until handover to parents/guardians (15:30‑18:00)
Communicate any questions or concerns for children with Assistant Principals
Ensure appropriate hygiene, health, and safety standards
Administer first aid when necessary and consult nursing staff when appropriate
Ensure current ISZL child protection procedures are followed
Provide information to parents about their child’s participation and experiences
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Primary School Teaching qualification (B.Ed or PGCE) and experience of working with children in Primary Schools
Experience of working in a leadership role
An understanding of the varied needs of international children and families
An understanding of the role of play and outdoor learning in children’s lives
The ability to work as part of a team
Excellent communication skills in English (German desirable)
Ability to use technology resources
At least 2 years of experience working in a childcare setting, play‑based setting, or Primary School classroom
Knowledge or experience of working in an International School setting
