Co-Founder&Head of IP Strategy&Regulatory Affairs PathoMatch AI is an early‑stage biotech startup building an AI‑driven platform that connects pathogen genomes with the most effective biologic treatments - starting with phages, fungi, and mycoviruses.

Our goal is to tackle antibiotic resistance through precision biologics and machine learning, guided by the One Health principle that connects human, animal, and environmental health.

Why This Role Matters PathoMatch is moving faster than the current law. We are matching pathogens to phages in 24 hours: a speed that traditional regulatory frameworks weren't built for. We need a Head of IP&Regulatory Affairs who can bridge the gap between high‑tech "Customized Medicine" and the rigorous Swiss/EU regulatory landscape.

The Challenge We are looking for a rare hybrid. You need to protect our "Brain" (the AI/IP) while clearing the "Path" (Regulatory). You will be the one to convince Swissmedic that our 24‑hour matching process is the new gold standard for safety.

IP Strategy:

Lead our patent filing strategy. You’ll handle the complexity of patenting AI‑driven matches and biological therapies.

The Regulatory "Fast‑Track":

Design the regulatory roadmap for our 24‑hour SaaS‑to‑Human loop. Lead the dialogue with Swissmedic and European authorities.

Venture Readiness:

Ensure our IP portfolio is "Series A ready" - making us the most attractive investment in the Swiss Biotech space.

Compliance Lead:

Manage the intersection of IVDR (Diagnostics) and personalized therapy law.

And over time (if possible):

Pathway Strategy:

Define the regulatory roadmap for AI‑generated synthetic phages under Swissmedic, EMA, and FDA.

Magistral Preparation:

Navigate the legal framework for "Pharmacy Compounding" and "Compassionate Use".

Data Privacy:

Ensure our hospital data‑collection pipeline (HL7/FHIR) is fully GDPR and Swiss FADP compliant.

Liability Framework:

Draft the agreements that protect the hospital, the patient, and PathoMatch during "Compassionate Use" interventions.

Background:

Ideally, you started in Biotech IP but have evolved to own the full Regulatory lifecycle.

Experience:

You’ve successfully navigated Swissmedic or EMA filings for "Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products" (ATMPs) or personalized medicine.

Mindset:

You don't just say "No, that's not the law." You say, "Here is how we change the framework to save the patient."
