Minimum Requirements

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Experience as a security guard or security officer may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Current registration as a Security Guard with the New York State Department of State.

Valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrated capacity to meet transportation needs of the job.

Desired Qualifications

Previous work experience with students K-12.

CPR/AED certification or willingness to be certified.

Ability to work with groups of students, staff, and public.

Willingness to work additional hours as needed.

Willingness to work an alternate work day schedule as required to support the educational program needs.

Daily attendance is expected.

Position Summary / Responsibilities

Provides security for the school building and enforces security and smoking regulations.

Works collaboratively with other safety team members to take action on the discipline and behavior problems of students within the school building.

Builds relationships with students to facilitate student academic and social success.

Works collaboratively with other security staff to quickly resolve any problems involving student safety.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
