Senior AI Engineer, Zürich (Kreis 11)

Join a fast-growing AI startup in Switzerland that is building production-grade LLM and generative AI solutions for enterprise and mission-critical environments. They are looking to hire a Senior AI Engineer / LLM Specialist to join their Zurich-based team, focused on evaluating, fine-tuning, and operationalising large language models within real-world AI products.This is a highly technical role where you will work closely with AI, product, and infrastructure teams to bring cutting‑edge language models into scalable production environments. Key responsibilities

Designing and maintaining evaluation frameworks for LLM performance, reliability, and safety Building automated testing suites, benchmark datasets, and model evaluation pipelines Improving LLM behaviour through prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, and experimentation Working with open‑source and commercial LLMs to optimise quality, latency, and costSupporting deployment and operationalisation of AI models into production systems Collaborating with software and infrastructure engineers on AI integrations and backend services Implementing guardrails, output validation, and hallucination reduction strategies Monitoring model performance and contributing to MLOps and model lifecycle managementRequirements

3-5+ years of experience within AI, Machine Learning, or Applied NLP Engineering Strong practical experience working with LLMs in production environments Experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow Experience with prompt engineering, evaluation pipelines, or fine‑tuning workflows Exposure to RAG systems, agentic workflows, or AI tooling frameworks is highly beneficialFamiliarity with Docker, CI/CD, APIs, and scalable deployment environments Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership Additional information
