Job Description In this role, you will own and transform the consumer experience for seekers and private listers into a decisive competitive advantage for SMG Real Estate, driving demand liquidity, conversion quality, and long‑term marketplace trust.

You will work at the intersection of product management, growth, and marketplace economics, with a clear mandate: to turn fragmented consumer journeys into a cohesive, data-driven system of action that materially improves both user outcomes and business performance.

This is one of the most impactful product leadership roles in European real estate marketplaces, with direct influence on demand‑side strategy and company growth.

Your Main Tasks

Lead a team of Product Managers responsible for the end‑to‑end consumer and private lister journey, from discovery to transaction.

Define and execute a clear, opinionated product strategy for consumers, grounded in marketplace dynamics such as liquidity, trust, and conversion.

Drive measurable improvements in demand‑side performance, including engagement, lead quality, conversion, and retention.

Partner closely with commercial leadership to accelerate growth of the private listers segment and unlock new value pools.

Design and continuously evolve team topology and ownership domains aligned to strategy, not legacy structures.

Establish rigorous OKRs and an effective operating cadence, linking product bets to business impact with clear success and stop criteria.

Build a high‑velocity, insight‑driven product culture by leveraging experimentation, data, and AI to shorten learning loops.

Coach and develop Product Managers into top‑tier product leaders, raising the bar on product craft, judgment, and accountability.

Represent the consumer domain in executive and board‑level discussions, shaping company‑wide priorities.

Your Responsibility

Directly lead around 5 Product Managers, with potential to expand scope.

Own a critical revenue and growth driver within the business unit.

Influence cross‑functional teams across design, engineering, data, and commercial functions.

Be accountable for defining and prioritizing multi‑million CHF investment areas.

Collaborators

Business Unit leadership, including the GM, Commercial, and Marketing teams.

Engineering, Design, and Data leadership.

Other Product leads across SMG marketplaces.

External partners where relevant, such as data, integrations, and AI tooling providers.

Qualifications You have a strong product leadership background and know how to build, scale, and improve consumer‑facing digital products. You are comfortable turning strategy into clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and effective execution across teams.

Experience and Background You have around 8‑12+ years of experience in Product Management, including meaningful leadership responsibility. You have successfully owned and scaled digital products, preferably in marketplaces, classifieds, platforms, or other consumer‑facing businesses.

Education A degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is helpful, but not a must. We also value candidates with non‑traditional, interdisciplinary, or hands‑on product backgrounds.

Product and Business Skills You bring strong product judgment and know how to focus on what truly matters for users and the business. You understand consumer behavior, funnels, growth mechanics, and how to use data to make better product decisions.

You are able to work at both strategic and executional levels; from shaping product direction to ensuring high‑quality delivery. You are confident defining metrics, interpreting signals, and translating insights into action.

Ways of Working You have experience working in complex, cross‑functional environments and are skilled at aligning stakeholders across product, engineering, design, business, and senior leadership. You are comfortable challenging assumptions, creating clarity, and bringing people with you.

You bring a high ownership mindset, a bias for action, and a strong sense of accountability.

Tools, AI, and Language Skills You are familiar with modern product, analytics, and experimentation tools. You also understand how AI can be applied practically in product development, personalization, and internal efficiency with a focus on real value rather than hype.

Fluency in English is required, as it is our business language. German is a plus, but not required.
