At
PAVE Space , we are redefining in-space logistics with autonomous and mobile spacecraft. Our mission is to revolutionize satellite deployment and orbit transfer through the development of a next-generation heavy
Kickstage : a vehicle designed to accelerate orbit raising and optimize access to higher orbits. Role Overview
We are seeking a CNC Machinist to manufacture precision components for rocket engines and test articles. This role goes beyond operating machines. You will help define machining strategy, select equipment and tooling for the workshop, and work closely with engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and repeatable. In a small team environment, you will have direct influence over process capability, inspection standards, and shop layout.Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate
3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes
to manufacture high-precision rocket engine components Machine rotating hardware such as
shafts, impellers, housings, and bearing seats
while holding tight geometric tolerances Select appropriate
tooling, workholding, and cutting strategies
for complex materials and geometries Collaborate with engineers on
manufacturability, GD&T, and tolerance feasibility Perform
in-process inspection and metrology
to ensure part quality and compliance Support
shop development, equipment selection, and process improvement
in a prototype-driven environment What We Offer
Direct involvement in building and testing liquid rocket engine hardware in-house. Responsibility for machining critical components that directly affect engine performance and reliability. Close collaboration with engineering, with real input into manufacturability and process decisions. Opportunity to help shape the machine shop— including equipment selection, tooling standards, and workflow.A fast-paced, hardware-driven environment with short feedback loops between machining and testing. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities as the company scales its manufacturing and propulsion capabilities. Requirements (Skills&Experience)
Required 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision environment Strong ability to interpret and question GD&T drawings Experience holding tight geometric tolerances (= mm / in where required) Proficiency with CAM software ( , Mastercam, Fusion, NX CAM) Strong inspection and metrology skills Clear and effective English communication skills (French is a plus). Plus Experience machining turbomachinery or aerospace rotating hardwareExperience with 5-axis simultaneous machining Familiarity with balancing requirements and rotor symmetry considerations Experience setting up or expanding a machine shop Experience working in a prototype or R&D-driven environment If you’re ready to tackle this unique and exciting challenge and participate to the development of a next generation Orbital Transfer Vehicle, join us at
PAVE Space . We are a fully on-site company, and all roles require daily in-person work at our office in Villeneuve (VD)
