Fragrance Ingredients Intellectual Property Expert (m/w/d) Position Overview: You will be responsible for driving the intellectual property extension process for Givaudan captive fragrance ingredients. You will directly report to the Head of Fragrance Ingredients Manufacturing Industrialization and join the Fragrances Operations Division in Vernier. This is a 1‑year, part‑time position (0.50 FTE).

Responsibilities

Lead the process for patent extension activities for Givaudan captive ingredients

Provide strategic input in the preparation of patent drafting and filing

Manage the process from idea generation through validation to patent formalisation

Create and coordinate a dedicated group of experts for patent drafting preparation

Work in close connection with Givaudan’s senior patent attorney and chemistry experts from S&T and Industrialisation

Bridge communication between Givaudan’s IP Legal Department and technical experts

Deliver all necessary background and technical information to support patent drafting (out of scope patent drafting– under Legal team’s responsibility)

Qualifications

PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Solid work experience in IP management for fragrance ingredients

Experience working within complex or matrix organisations

Strong proficiency in organic chemistry, with process chemistry considered a plus

Knowledge of product processing techniques and industrialisation practices

Good understanding of project management principles

Familiarity with chemical product specifications and safety regulations

Basic knowledge of SAP systems

Proficiency in literature searching and navigating internal/external databases
