Overview Turn cutting‑edge nano‑ and micro‑optical technology into robust industrial processes.
At NIL Technology, you will play a key role in bridging innovation and manufacturing, working hands‑on with advanced processes and equipment while shaping scalable production for future optical solutions.
You will be based at our site in Horgen, Switzerland, working closely with a highly skilled, international engineering team supporting development and manufacturing across Europe and beyond.
You will be part of an ambitious company where we win together. Team spirit and mutual success are key components in our everyday work culture.
Responsibilities Industrialize advanced optical processes
You industrialize and optimize manufacturing processes for nano‑ and micro‑optical components, defining robust process windows, capability, and long‑term stability.
Own prototype and small‑series production
You take ownership of prototype and small‑series production runs, driving yield, throughput, defect reduction, and defining in‑process controls and final inspection criteria.
Qualify processes and equipment
You set up, calibrate, and qualify manufacturing equipment and processes, including run plans, acceptance criteria, and release to production.
Apply data‑driven problem solving
You use structured, data‑driven approaches — including digital and AI‑enabled tools — to analyze process performance, solve problems, and ensure traceability and quality.
Define metrology and inspection methods
You select and execute appropriate metrology and inspection techniques, such as microscopy and related measurement tools, to verify process and product performance.
Enable production handover and collaboration
You create and maintain work instructions, control plans, inspection protocols, and technical documentation, and communicate status, results, and risks transparently with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Skills, experiences and qualifications
Technical degree in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, precision mechanics, mechatronics, microsystems, or similar
Hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes; cleanroom experience is a strong advantage
Experience with nano‑ or micro‑fabrication technologies; wafer‑level technology and SPC experience are a plus
Practical experience with metrology, microscopy, and inspection equipment
Independent, structured, and hands‑on working style with strong ownership
Comfortable working both independently and in cross‑functional, international teams
Flexible mindset and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Willingness to travel within Europe and occasionally to Southeast Asia
Must be eligible to work in Switzerland
