The International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme 2026 is now open for applications. This 9-month residential fellowship in Geneva brings together 10 fellows for leadership development in peace and humanitarian diplomacy.
The programme is hosted by
Geneva Graduate Institute and Interpeace . Fellows will take part in residential programming, institutional placements, mentoring, training, and applied projects across International Geneva.

About this Program The International Geneva Peace Fellowship Programme is designed for recent graduates, advanced PhD candidates, and junior to mid-career professionals. It focuses on leadership in peace and humanitarian diplomacy through practical engagement and professional exposure.
During the fellowship, participants will live in Geneva and work on future-oriented projects that address global challenges. In addition, they will join visits, convenings, collaborative platforms, and learning exchanges across International Geneva.
Each fellow will also undertake a nine-month placement with a partner institution. These placements align with the fellow’s expertise and the needs of the host institution.
Eligibility Criteria
MA programme graduates who completed their studies within 12 months of applying, or advanced PhD candidates transitioning into policy and practice-oriented careers
Junior professionals with 1–4 years of experience
Mid-career professionals with 5–10 years of experience
Exceptional leadership potential in policy and/or practice, particularly in peace and humanitarian diplomacy, international affairs, and social movements
Excellent writing and communications skills in English and/or French; additional languages are an asset
Proven ability to work in a multicultural team
Ability to be flexible and adapt to different contexts and working environments
Availability to commit to a 9‑month residency program in Geneva from September 2026 to June 2027
The fellowship is not a postdoctoral programme
