Bioprocess Production Engineer Location: Aarberg, Switzerland

To support the further development of our mycoprotein production facility, planetary is searching for an experienced (Bio)-process engineer with proven industrial experience to support us at our 50kL production site in Aarberg, canton of Bern. In this position you will carry out development, upscaling and production up to 50k L for external clients and internal products in batch and continuous production.

Responsibilities

Further optimize and operate our mycelium biomass (mycoprotein) fermentation process from 300 L to 50 m³ scale.

Involve routine production of mycoprotein at 50 m³ scale.

Be part of a team involved in the implementation of a continuous production process for mycoprotein at 50 m³ scale.

Work flexible hours, including shift working.

Follow directives from line managers and maintain strong discipline.

Operate a range of equipment and utilities under carefully controlled, food‑grade conditions.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.

Apply a very hands‑on, practical approach to fermentation processes for food ingredient production.

Qualifications and Experience

Motivated to join an impact‑focused industrial firm, seeking to do well by doing good and scaling up the alternative protein industry.

BSc, MSc or CFC in a suitable field of food technology, microbiology, fermentation technology, process engineering or related field.

3 or more years of prior experience in the development and implementation of robust industrial fermentation or chemical processes.

Hands‑on experience and knowledge of industrial manufacturing conditions for food manufacturing.

Strongly motivated to work within a start‑up, team environment and desire to learn new concepts and ideas.

Good command in German is a plus.

Bioprocess engineer Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Planetary is looking for an experienced Bioprocess Engineer with expertise in factory and plant design, infrastructure, regulations, and finished product formulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Successfully completed university studies in chemical or bioprocess engineering or related disciplines.

+5 years of experience in process engineering design, possibly within the biotech industry.

Experience and familiarity with designing for delivery/implementation and associated project construction and execution.

Professional experience in industrial biotechnology, especially in the area of process development/scaling.

Ability to perform process development involving multiple disciplines (e.g., product isolation and purification) in cross‑functional and cross‑site teams.

Familiarity with modern CAE packages and interfaces for process plant design.

Evidence of working as part of a multi‑discipline team.

English is required; German is a plus.

Executive assistant Location: Geneva, Switzerland (remote)

To support the development of our business, planetary is searching for an Executive Assistant to join with a 50% – 80% time commitment.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree.

Minimum 3 years of related experience.

Ability to communicate in English, German and French required.

Proficient in visual communication including slide design, editing, and creation.

Proficient in PowerPoint, Slides, InDesign, or similar.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google suites.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Project manager officer Location: Fribourg or Geneva, Switzerland

To support the construction of our first plant, Planetary is searching for an experienced project manager to support our engineering team.

Qualifications and Experience

Masters degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related fields.

10+ years of business experience across multiple disciplines and large CAPEX project management experience in pharma, biotech, engineering, or similar.

Knowledge of process engineering, food plant construction, planning, and process technology strongly preferred.

Previous project management experience and leadership of diverse, cross‑functional teams.

Full working proficiency of both English and German.

Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment to solve problems, inspire loyalty and trust, handle oneself ethically, motivate others, lead without formal authority, influence outcomes, get things done through others, and maintain an agile mindset.
