Main Purpose
The position provides and procures legal services across Trafigura's full commercial portfolio, focusing on physically and financially settled crude oil, products, bulk, gas, LNG, power, renewables, metals and minerals; managing trading, shipment, storage and transportation disputes; and supporting trade and structured finance for commodity transactions.Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for the provision and procurement of legal services, identify any need for in‑house legal resources, and manage their procurement. Coordinate and implement standards and policies for the legal office in collaboration with the Group General Counsel across contentious and non‑contentious areas.Provide contentious support: assist during all stages of disputes—live advice to commodity traders and operators, manage day‑to‑day claims, arbitration, litigation, mediation and enforcement, mainly trading, shipping and demurrage disputes (including other disputes or investigations, financial and insolvencies); report progress of disputes to management andcommercial desks.Provide non‑contentious support: draft and advise on a variety of trading and commercial agreements, including sale/purchase contracts, trade and structured finance documents and related MOUs; establish, review and update standard template documents; advise on sanctions and regulations relevant to the business.Work as a member of the Trafigura Group Legal Network, which provides and procures a full legal service across the Group. Establish strong working relationships across the business. Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years PQE experience in commodities trading, both contentious and non‑contentious. Demonstrated experience drafting storage, chartering, transportation and trade finance contracts. English language essential. Practiced at a top law firm. Preferred Qualifications
English, Australian, Singaporean or U.S. law‑qualified, but other jurisdictions considered. In‑house corporate experience a plus, especially in the energy/trading sector. Attributes for Success

Excellent communication skills to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice.
