Scope of Work Under the supervision of the Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP), the consultant will strengthen the coordination and operational effectiveness of the Digital Transaction Group with the following key responsibilities:
Coordinate Transaction Group activities: organise meetings, set agendas, provide meeting summaries and action items, deliverables and timelines.
Develop and maintain internal procedures and standards, and update the internal webpage as needed.
Update policies, guidance and procedures in line with the latest organisational recommendations.
Engage with Transaction Group members and key stakeholders to solve issues, bottlenecks and prioritise action items.
Support and manage the pipeline of internal requests, ensuring the priority list of Financial Service Providers and banks from COs is updated.
Deliver a Results Report assessing planned versus achieved outcomes of a sprint‑based execution cycle.
Propose and maintain a“live” documentation system tracking the status of PSPs/APMs and inventory.
Facilitate quarterly reporting from PSP/APMs inputs to the Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM).
Monitor and track action items and Transaction Group deliverables.
Develop and maintain an internal communication plan with stakeholders.
Support and update strategy/narrative documentation such as presentations, guidance documents, SharePoint sites, etc.
Coordinate activities related to internal procedures including monitoring updates and tracking approvals.
Support development of additional deliverables related to communication, training and more on a case‑by‑case basis.
Create and coordinate internal events such as meetings, drop‑in calls, webinars etc.
Deliverables&Timeline
Monthly project management review and facilitation of quarterly reporting– due end of each month from May to October 2026.
Pipeline and priority list management– ongoing updates each month.
Snapshot and final Results Report on FSPs sprint– interim report by early June‑July 2026; full report by end of August‑September 2026.
Live PSPs/APMs status– delivery September 2026.
Knowledge management– update internal channels and documentation – October 2026.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, International Development, International Relations, Information Systems or a closely related field. Alternatively, a first‑level university degree in a relevant field combined with at least two years of qualifying professional experience may be accepted.
Minimum ten years of progressively responsible experience in senior project management roles, preferably in international development contexts.
Strong expertise in project coordination, planning, tracking and delivery, including follow‑up of pipelines, priorities and action items.
Demonstrated experience producing results‑oriented management reports, including analysis, identification of bottlenecks and actionable recommendations.
Experience in process review, documentation and updating internal procedures and standards.
Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver outputs under tight timelines.
Prior experience in similar project management assignments within UNICEF is a strong asset, particularly in global, cross‑divisional or PFP/PSFR‑related initiatives.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
Additional Information Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered“staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and will not be entitled to staff benefits. Consultants are responsible for their own tax liabilities.
Consultants must ensure that the visa (if applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period. They must be fully vaccinated against SARS‑CoV‑2 by a WHO‑endorsed vaccine before starting the assignment. Remote consultants are not expected to travel.
