DIREV DirectorJob DescriptionAs Director in charge of the Directorate for Industrial, Urban and Rural Environment (DIREV) and within the Directorate General for the Environment (DGE), you are part of its Management Committee (CODIR) and are fully involved in its steering. The mission of DIREV within the DGE is specifically the protection of the environment against pollution, and nuisances caused by human activities. DIREV has three divisions: Air and Technological Risks (ARC), Water Protection (PRE), and Sanitation (ASS).Leading a multidisciplinary team of approximately 70 - 80 people, one of your main missions is to supervise the implementation of public policies for protection against environmental pollutants and to propose to the Director General of the DGE the evolution of legal and technical frameworks. This key position includes a vast scope and, among others, the axes and skills summarized below:Responsibilities- Define and steer the activities of DIREV in accordance with the legal and regulatory provisions in force, and by anticipating regulatory and societal developments and their impacts.- Direct and lead DIREV, ensuring efficient management of human and financial resources allocated to the activities and projects of the directorate. Supervise projects and their progress, participate in the DGE budget process.- Support managers and their teams in the management and development of skills.- Ensure the quality of relations with DIREV partners and the representation of the department among concerned circles at regional and municipal levels. Contribute to the management of environmental issues.- Support the Director General in the accomplishment of their missions for the department and in the ORCA Steering Committee and represent the canton within federal and intercantonal conferences or commissions in the field of the environment, according to the distribution of DGE missions.For further details, you can refer to the job description accessible via this link. For specific questions, you can contact the Director General.- University degree in the field of the environment or equivalent title in the field of management.- Confirmed experience in one of the fields of environmental protection.- Proven experience in team management.- Experience desired within a public administration.- Good knowledge of Swiss and cantonal environmental policy and institutions.- Proven interest in the policy of combating polluting emissions and immissions and their management from a partnership perspective, taking into account all their dimensions.- Knowledge of German (B2).A check of any criminal record is required to exercise this function.
