Responsibilities
Redesigned the mobile web app by interacting with customers, wireframing new flows, implementing the design system, and turning wireframes into a live product.
Built a set of flexible, composable components in the design system that allow other engineers to build custom autocompletes, including filters and options to create new records.
Helped another engineer improve the information hierarchy and scannability of a design for candidate assessments, enabling recruiters to parse information quickly.
Qualifications We are looking for an engineer who loves typed languages and can design and build. We value fundamentals such as debugging and abstractions and prioritize learning speed over previous language experience. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, Postgres, and Redis or is open to rapidly learning these technologies.
Onboarding Upon hiring, you will set up your dev environment with a single script, push your first product change on day one, and progressively handle more complex deliveries from simple copy changes to major features. You will have an assigned peer for pair programming and regular check‑ins, and team training sessions will cover our culture, product, engineering process, and technical architecture.
Technology Stack
TypeScript (frontend&backend)
React
GraphQL API
Node.js
PostgreSQL
Redis
Benefits
Competitive salary and equity.
10-year exercise window for stock options.
Unlimited PTO, encouraging you to take time off.
Minimum 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave; longer for those outside the US per regional requirements.
Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget, plus a $100/month education budget.
Top‑tier health insurance for US employees and dependents, 100% premiums covered; high‑quality supplemental health insurance for other countries.
Interview Process
Introduction call with Hiring Manager (15‑30 min).
A technical screen where we pair in our actual codebase (1 hr).
Three non‑coding interviews that focus on product thinking, technical design, and infrastructure (3 hrs 15 min; can be split across multiple days).
EEO Statement Ashby provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.
Compensation Range:€141K - €226K
