Main Purpose of the Role Encourage and support students to enjoy and make the most of the learning opportunities offered by the school, and specifically teach English to Middle School Secondaire students. The role includes the possibility of becoming a homeroom advisor.

This position will be filled from mid‑August 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

Promote the school's mission and vision by assisting students, both day and boarding, to discover and develop individual strengths, build powerful, lifelong global connections, and be their best selves.

Contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive learning environment in which students can flourish, ensuring that each student's health and well‑being are given the necessary priority.

Embody and promote Collège du Léman's RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence.

Engage and motivate students of all abilities.

Work with colleagues to ensure that lessons are harmonised across the grade level.

Assess student progress as per the school guidelines and enter grades into the online grade book.

Write school reports as per guidelines and adhere to the required completion timelines.

Use and develop existing resources to teach English classes in Middle School Secondaire.

Carry out other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile Qualification

Must hold a relevant teaching qualification in English. A Master’s degree in a suitable area of pedagogy is preferred.

Experience

Successful experience teaching in a Middle School setting to students whose first language might not be English, ideally in an international school setting.

Ability to meet the needs of students with diagnosed learning differences.

Experience as a homeroom advisor is an asset.

Prior Experience and Skills

English is your mother tongue.

Ability to use and integrate educational technology as a tool to enhance learning in the curriculum.

Fostering a positive relationship with students, firm but empathetic and fair.

Good organisational skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills

Excel in teamwork, meeting tight deadlines, and implementing effective classroom and differentiation strategies.
