ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for an experienced IBM i / AS400 Application Developer to join our international team and contribute to complex IT projects for clients operating in the industrial sector. The selected candidate will play an active role in the maintenance, evolution, and integration of management systems built on IBM i platform, directly supporting production, logistics, and supply chain processes. The role requires solid hands‑on development skills combined with the ability to operate effectively in mission‑critical environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in troubleshooting sessions, release management, and change management activities across production environments

Support integration efforts between IBM i systems and external platforms including ERP solutions and third‑party applications via API or file exchange mechanisms

Produce and maintain technical documentation and provide support to key business users across operational areas

Database Management&Performance

Design and optimise DB2 for i structures including queries and stored procedures, with a focus on system performance and data integrity

Collaborate with Operations, Production, and Supply Chain functions to gather and interpret functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Application Development&Maintenance

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve applications written in ILE RPG, RPGIV, CL, and SQL on IBM i platform

Ensure code quality, stability, and performance across all development and maintenance activities in line with project standards

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Minimum 3 years of hands‑on development experience on IBM i / AS400 platform

Solid proficiency in ILE RPG, CL, DB2/400, and SQL

Familiarity with development tools such as RDi (Rational Developer for i) or equivalent environments

Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities in mission‑critical production settings

Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams and manage competing priorities

Experience in industrial contexts such as manufacturing, warehousing, or procurement is considered a plus

PREFERRED SKILLS

Knowledge of integration tools and protocols such as MQ, REST API, or EDI

Experience working in hybrid environments combining IBM i with cloud platforms or modern ERP systems

Familiarity with Agile or DevOps methodologies applied to legacy system contexts
