Role Summary As HR Director IGC H/F, you will join the Imerys Graphite&Carbon Leadership Team and the Human Resources Leadership Team. You will design the people agenda for a fast‑growing industry business of roughly €250 million, leading high‑level organisational design and engagement initiatives while ensuring operational HR excellence across Europe, North America and APAC.
Reporting Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
Dotted Line: Business Vice President Graphite&Carbon
Scope&Direct Reports Scope: approximately 460 FTEs
Direct Reports: Country HR organization in Switzerland
Responsibilities Strategic Business Partnering&Organisational Effectiveness
Translate the€250 million business strategy into a scalable human‑capital plan, aligning labor costs and structures with growth and EBITDA targets.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Business GM on right‑sizing the organisation and driving change management.
Orchestrate the“Golden Triangle” between Corporate HR, the Business and local operations to optimise global standards without hindering local speed‑to‑market.
Industrial Relations&Global Risk Management
Drive the labour‑relations strategy in Switzerland and coordinate with Belgian HR to maintain a stable industrial climate.
Manage works councils proactively to mitigate labour‑dispute risks that could affect production or delivery.
Talent Value Chain&High‑Performance Culture
Build a robust talent pipeline for bottleneck roles, ensuring the business meets innovation and sales timelines.
Lead the Performance Journey and succession planning, focusing on high potentials capable of progressing across the business and the wider group.
Synchronise culture across diverse geographies, fostering a“One Business” mindset among satellite offices and manufacturing hubs.
Total Rewards&Cost Management
Execute annual compensation and bonus cycles, ensuring a strong link between performance and the business unit’s financial results.
Use benchmarking data to attract and retain specialised technical talent in high‑cost hubs, balancing market competitiveness with margin requirements.
Candidate Profile Educational Background: Degree in Engineering, HR, Business Administration or Law.
Industrial Expertise: 15+ years of HR experience, ideally in a fast‑growing manufacturing or industrial environment; M&A activity—including due diligence and post‑merger integration—is highly desirable.
Multilingual: Fluency in English and Italian required; proficiency in Dutch is a significant advantage.
Matrix Experience: Proven record of reporting to a global HR function while supporting a decentralised business head.
Geographic Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Swiss and/or Belgian labour law, preferred.
Soft Skills: Strategic thinking, strong drive for results, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage high‑stakes projects in a complex matrixed environment.
