Senior Consultant– Knowledge Graph for Life Sciences, Basel

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive Consultant to play a key role in advancing MIGx’s Knowledge Management (KM) framework. In this hybrid role, you will support the Head of Knowledge Management in shaping the KM roadmap and delivering data-centric, knowledge-graph-based solutions for life science organizations.

Acting as a senior consultant internally and externally, you will coordinate business and technical stakeholders, promote semantic approaches and services, and ensure high-quality delivery. You will work directly with internal experts and clients to translate scientific and business challenges into pragmatic semantic solutions, demonstrated through prototypes and demos.

You bring life science industry knowledge, solid expertise in knowledge graphs and data management, and a clear focus on both added value to business and technical performances. You thrive in complex data environments and know how to bring structure and clarity without oversimplifying.

Key Responsibilities 1. Knowledge Management, Semantic Architecture&Knowledge Graphs

Knowledge management strategy, semantic architecture design, and technology stack definition

Ontology and terminology engineering (RDF, RDFS, OWL, SKOS, SHACL)

Knowledge graph modeling, validation, and interoperability across data sources, APIs, and analytics layers

Alignment with life science standards and controlled vocabularies (e.g. MeSH, CTD, UniProt, CDISC)

2. Technical Leadership&IT Project Delivery

Technical leadership for semantic and knowledge-graph-based products

Coordination and mentoring of developers, data engineers, and knowledge modelers

Agile project management: backlog structuring, sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery tracking

Architectural guidance, quality assurance, risk management, and CI/CD-aware delivery practices

3. Consulting, Solution Design&Client Enablement

Design and delivery of semantic solutions, prototypes, and data-centric demos

Translation of scientific and business requirements into graph-powered applications and workflows

Internal and client‑facing consulting, educational sessions, technical workshops, and pre‑sales support

Life Science Expertise

Strong understanding of pharmaceutical, biotech, or life science environments

Hands‑on experience in at least one domain such as research, development, clinical, regulatory, or manufacturing

Ability to connect data, processes, and decision‑making realities across the life science value chain

Awareness of data quality, traceability, and reuse requirements in regulated contexts
