Afterschool Care Eagles Club Leader (70%)General DescriptionThe Eagles Club Leader leads the EAGLES Club Team to plan, prepare, and assist with activities for a group of children after school every weekday during term-times, as well as during orientation week, in-service/parent-teacher conference days. The Eagles Club Leader reports to the Deputy Director.This role is a part-time role (70%) and limited to 1 year. The contract could potentially be renewed afterwards.You need to be a trained teacher and have the right to live and work in Switzerland (CH/EU passport) to apply.Eagles Club Leader is expected to:​​LeadershipProviding leadership, support and supervision to EAGLES staffHolding regular staff meetingsAdministration and record keeping of staffing attendance and needsAdministration and record keeping of student attendance and needs (health, social, emotionalOrdering and purchasing supplies and materials within an agreed budgetDeveloping and maintaining collaborative working relationships with all community membersUndertaking appropriate and relevant trainingMonitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure environment for children and staffMaintain appropriate staff-to-student ratios and ensure safe supervision practicesCommunicating with Admissions Department and attending Admissions eventsCommunicating with parents about any challenging behaviour or behavioural concerns regarding childrenCommunicating with parents about late pick-upsCommunicating with Assistant Principals about concerns for studentsPlanning and PreparationProviding an inclusive and welcoming environment that incorporates the children’s ages, interests, and abilitiesLead collaborative planning and prepare age-appropriate activities and engagementsSetting up appropriate spaces, including furniture and equipment, and outdoor spacesConsulting with children and involving them in planning activitiesStrategise and implement ‘camp days’ during parent-teacher conferences, open to all ISZL families.Coordinate EAGLES care for ISZL professional development days, in-service days, staff orientation weeks, and other school events when needed.Supporting children & familiesProviding holistic support (physical, social, and emotional) for the children from time of entry to the club until handover to parents/guardians (15:30-18:00)Communicating any questions or concerns for children with Assistant PrincipalsEnsuring appropriate hygiene, health, and safety standardsAdministering first aid when necessary and consulting nursing staff when appropriateEnsuring current ISZL child protection procedures are followedProviding information to parents about their child’s participation and experiencesRequired and Preferred QualificationsPrimary School Teaching qualification ( or PGCE) and experience of working with children in Primary SchoolsExperience of working in a leadership roleAn understanding of the varied needs of international children and familiesAn understanding of the role of play and outdoor learning in children’s livesThe ability to work as part of a teamExcellent communication skills in English (German desirable)Ability to use technology resourcesAt least 2 years of experience working in a childcare setting, play-based setting, or Primary School classroomKnowledge or experience of working in an International School settingWhat we offerPaid insurance benefits (accident insurance + long-term sickness)Generous pension fund contributionsProfessional development opportunitiesTuition discountSocial eventsFlexibilityA modern, dynamic and collaborative work environmentOpen communicationShort decision making processesKey ISZL Reference DocumentsGuiding StatementsProfessional StandardsTeaching StandardsLearning PrinciplesInclusion PolicyVisit the Employment section of ISZL’swebsite for more informationISZL is an equal-opportunity employerAs such, ISZL agrees to support, respect, and seek inclusion with regard to the safety and care of all community members, including potential members looking to join our school.
