Responsibilities

Training guide dogs

Introducing the guide dog to the client

Accompanying and instructing clients at follow ups and arranging the dog retirement

Supervising candidates during informational courses

Supervising and instructing clients during refresher courses

Management of the internal database

Participating in public relations activities, particularly guided tours or demonstrations

Dog-sitting services at the school as needed

Requirements

A recognised qualification as a guide dog instructor (GDMI) from SBFI/IGDF is preferred

Minimum of four years’ post qualification experience in the guide dog field

In-depth knowledge of modern dog training methods and an open approach to new insights into the training of dogs

A structured, reliable, and self-motivated personality with excellent communication and organisational skills

Excellent command of written and fluently speaking German; French would be advantageous

Category B driving licence

Additional Information It will not be possible to bring your own dog to work with you. This job is advertised for an autism service dog instructor, and you will be required to take the dog‑in‑training back home with you for several days per week.

You cannot travel directly to the school by public transport.
